Community Talent Show Audition Sign-Ups Begin

A community talent show sponsored by the LTAC Junior Committee will take place at the Ohio Theatre on Saturday April 13, 2002 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Auditions are open to all adults and children from the surrounding Loudonville – Mohican area.

Auditions will take place at the Ohio Theatre on February 19th and 20th from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm each day and will run 5 minutes per audition. Sign-up sheets for audition times are located at the Loudonville Public Library, the Loudonville High School and at the Budd School. It is not required to sign up for the auditions ahead of time, walk-ins are welcome at the Ohio Theatre on February 19th and 20th and will be taken on a first come first served basis.

Those that are auditioning are asked to perform a 5 minute sample of their act. A keyboard, CD player, tape deck and stage lights will be provided at the audition. Performances on the day of the show should run no longer than 15 minutes. A $1 registration fee donation will be collected at the time of the audition from each talent act. They only need to appear at one of the two audition dates to be admitted to the show.

The Community Talent Show is a benefit organized by three local high school students, Aimee Briscoe, Katherine Lunt and Marissa Lunt. They decided to do what they could to save the movies from being dropped at the Ohio Theatre due to budget cuts made by the Village of Loudonville when Merillat Industries announced that they will be closing the plant in the near future.

The three students are currently collecting donations to go toward theatre operations to save the movies for as long as possible, and they are asking for sponsorships of $15 to $25. Patrons who make donations will have their name in the program the day of the event. Because it is unclear how long they will be able to keep the movies going from this fundraiser, the students decided that they also wanted a permanent reminder of their efforts to help the Ohio Theatre, and asked that all proceeds collected from ticket sales the day of the show be put toward the restoration efforts of the Ohio Theatre.

Please send all donations to the LTAC Junior Committee, P.O. Box 241, Loudonville, Ohio 44842. For more information, please call Marissa or Katherine Lunt at (419) 994-3195 or Aimee Briscoe, (419) 994-5159.
