"Ten Little Indians" (April 25, 2000) By Jim Brewer While the performance of the Loudonville Players "Ten Little Indians" highlight is its performance in the Historic Ohio Theatre, the comedy and the acting will also be a point of attraction. The cast for the May 12-14 was announced this week for the Agatha Christy mystery. The eight guests, played by Heidi Kaye, Pg Lavengood, Noah Daniel, Ed Weltmer, Hezzy Nave, Katherine Wolfe, Marshall Sipes and Jim Ramey, are invited to a house on an island under mysterious circumstances. A voice accuses everyone present, including servants Jon Hurley and Margie Danner, of a murder that each committed but which could not be prosecuted. While the guests nervously wait for their host to arrive, one of the Ten Little Indian statuettes topples off the mantle and the nursery rhyme begins... Other cast members are Gene Myers as the boat driver, and Linda Smith as one of the Friday night guests. The play is being directed by Linda Kauffman and performed in the historic Ohio Theatre. "When we formed the Loudonville Players in 1990, it was a dream to perform in the Ohio Theatre," Mona McMullen, one of the founders of the local theatre group, explained, "Our second production, 'The Sound of Music,' was was performed there in 1991 in what was a great and memorable experience for everyone involved. We are looking forward to performing in the theatre again." Some of the proceeds from the Players' performance will be donate to the theatre for renovations. Tickets for the event will go on sale Friday, April 28, and can be purchased at Hunter's Radio Shack, Activewares, Nina's Beauty Shop, Video Plus Shop, the Loudonville Times office, and at the door. Tickets are $6 for adults and $5 for senior citizens and students. Children under 12 are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Performances are at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 12 and 13, and 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 14. |
